My career path has been long and varied from being an Automotive Engineer to a military bandsman in the armed services.
I relocated to Noosa from Melbourne in the mid seventies and apart from some time spent in the USA resided here until 2001.
During that period I established an entertainment and employment agency providing entertainment to various venues up and down the Sunshine Coast. This included the management of live bands, solo artists and also the establishment of a mobile disco service. These services evolved into a retail outlet providing musicians with their necessary requirements and also records and cassettes.
It was during that latter period (1984-85) that I became involved with local Sunshine Coast radio. First of all with an album review and interview show on 4NA Nambour and then with 4GY Gympie. The takeover of 4GY by Westco Communications led to the establishment of a studio and sales office in Noosa Junction of which I was appointed sales manager.
Having sold the entertainment businesses, I then took up a job offer with KLONG FM in Long Beach California to promote the upcoming America’s Cup Challenge in Fremantle Western Australia.
As I became involved with the Tourism Association this led to me volunteering as a broadcaster with the local community radio 2CBD FM (Community Broadcast Deepwater). With a reasonable background and an extensive record and CD collection I was able to establish myself as an identity and having completed the training for the Outside Broadcasting Certificate I could assist with the various OB’s that happened throughout the year. I did for a short time take on the position of vice president which gained me a wealth of knowledge with regard to the licensing of community radio stations.
In 2016 we moved back to the Noosa area and now reside at Peregian Springs.
